Tube Drawing with Tilted Die: Texture, Dislocation Density and Mechanical Properties

Anisotropic behavior is a key characteristic for understanding eccentricity in tubes. In this paper, the effect of using tilted die during tube drawing on eccentricity, texture, dislocation density, and mechanical properties shown. Copper tubes were drawn with ±5° two passes. The increase or decrease can be controlled by controlling angle die. Two types textures have been developed drawing, namely plane strain uniaxial types. Plain type texture mainly characterized ? fiber dominant copper component {112}<111>. deformation dominated <111> fiber, as commonly found wire drawing. Texture sharpness increases increasing strain, varies significantly between maximum minimum wall thickness.
